If the forecast is calling for rain, fear not because rainy days can still be beautiful! If you don't believe us, just take a look at Laine + Danny's Rainy Wedding Day on the Blog.
It rained on and off the entire day, and with the help of a few umbrellas and these tips, we really created a timelessly elegant wedding day.
essential wedding tips
We recommend ordering a few clear umbrellas on Amazon. It also might be good to re-evaluate portrait locations to make sure we can still shoot in natural light - even if it means heading offsite.
RAIN TIPS
I also like to recommend bringing a Several White Towels so that we can lay it down underneath the white dress.
for rainy days
While we can't guarantee that rain on your wedding day is good luck, we can put a plan in place to ensure a beautiful day and beautiful images.
Rainy day weddings may require a little more flexibility and creativity, but there isn't any reason why they can't be as beautiful and as joyful as sunny weddings!

We love capturing all the little details you've carefully chosen to be a part of your wedding day! We recommend choosing a getting ready location filled with natural light and, if possible, please keep the space free from trash and clutter.
It would be wonderful if you could put all of your rings, shoes, invitations and other keepsakes together in one spot for us. We will have beautiful florals to add to your details photos.

That moment you see each other for the first time on their wedding day is pure magic. And this is true whether the couple chooses to wait until the bride walks down the aisle or chooses to do a “first look’ prior to the ceremony.
While we consider ourselves people who value tradition, there are definitely a few good reasons to consider a first look. Almost all of our couples this year have chosen to do a first look. Here are 3 reasons on Alexandra Robyn's Photo Blog to consider a ‘first look’:
Family Photos are so meaningful to everyone. We've found these tips help the process move smoothly.
1. let your family members know ahead of time they will be needed before the ceremony and give them a meeting time and place.
2. have them split into two clear groups: bride-side and groom-side
3. let them know that the photos will move quickly so it helps to listen closely and ready to be "on-deck" for the next photo
4. Wait until the entire list is complete before adding any new combinations. Oftentimes, we get all the combinations and it helps to stay in order.
5. Have your personal attendant help with gathering family and getting members "on-deck"
6. Help Allie to know which combinations you would like to add to her standard list at the time of filling out your Wedding Questionnaire PDF!
From the moment we connect, it’s my goal to make you completely comfortable. I know just where to take you, how to plan your day, and will surround you with the kind of energy that makes you actually excited to be in front of the camera.
What's unique to my craft is the focus on small details to tell the complete story of your love. From your newborn's tiny toes to the way your grandmother's eyes well with tears when she sees you walk down the aisle - no detail is too small.

We like to always prepare as much as possible so that wedding days can be stress-free and one that you can enjoy to the fullest. That said, should any questions or hiccups arise, know that we have your back!
We are here ready to serve and help in any way we can - whether that be running upstairs to get your touchup kit or helping you make bigger day of decisions like photo locations or even timeline questions. The point is, we want you to relax and that's why Bentley and Allie created Cotton + Joy Weddings.
Allie will go ahead and work her editing magic. The process takes about 4-6 weeks before she is able to deliver your light and airy images, but don’t worry! She will try to get some Black and White sneak looks within 10 days so you have something to look forward to after your honeymoon! Once she deliver your final images, you can select up to 50 for me to retouch - this is something special I do. In addition to all my normal editing magic, I will add skin softening, teeth whitening and light flyaway retouching.
Can’t wait for your big day!!
From getting ready to your first look to saying “I do,” to dancing the night away, your

holidays, and again on your anniversaries, and maybe even later in life with your children.
